AAC
Augmentative & Alternative Communication assists individuals when language and speech impairments, like aphasia, apraxia, and dysarthria, make communicating difficult.

Aphasia
Aphasia can affect the ability to talk, read, write, and understand language. In addition to affecting language skills, a stroke or TBI may also have a significant impact on a person’s ability to make decisions, remember new things, produce clear speech, and/or swallow.

Cognition
Cognitive therapy assists those experiencing difficulties with word-finding, memory, attention, problem solving, and/or cognitive fatigue.

Dysphagia
Dysphagia therapy is beneficial for those experiencing one or more of the following:

Coughing / gagging while swallowing

Dehydration

Drooling
-
Feeling as if food is stuck either in the throat or chest

Frequent heartburn

Hoarseness

Inability to swallow

Pain while swallowing

Speech Sound Production/Fluency
Speech therapy targets oral motor abilities, articulation, and fluency (stuttering) utilizing a variety of methods & techniques to improve communication of wants/needs/thoughts/feelings.

Voice
Voice therapy assists those experiencing chronic hoarseness, frequent periods of laryngitis, muscle tension dysphonia, vocal cord dysfunction, vocal tremor, or spasmodic dysphonia.
